All I can say about "Need" is it was just dull. There were specks of imagination and I give Carrie Jones credit for taking on a mythos that has such untapped potential in the YA but overall it’s handled so unimaginatively I found myself unable to really care about the cut out characters, formulaic situations and predictable plotting. It’s a book that’s really the epitome of the genre, or at least what the genre has become. The quirky or vaguely interesting traits that Zara had played no part in her overall character and just felt forced, much like a lot in this book.
